Village Hall
Bleasby’s attractive village hall stands on Gypsy Lane. It was originally the village school, built in 1855, and generations of local children received their education there – some of them are still living here and can tell you about it! It was in use as the school until the 1960s when the new school was built. Soon after this it was secured for the parish and became, in due course, the village hall.
Over the years it has been extended and brought to an attractive and up-to-date standard for uses of all kinds. It is used regularly for meetings of the Parish Council, the WI, the Local History Society and the Bleasby Playgroup and for a host of other group activities such as Yoga classes, the Wednesday Group for arts, crafts and table games.
It is also great for events such as children’s parties, suppers and fund-raising coffee mornings etc. It’s not quite big enough for full-scale dances but lots of ‘dramatic’ performances and other entertainments have taken place there.
